How to Choose the Perfect Wine Fridge for You

With so many different kinds and sizes of wine fridges, the possibilities can be overwhelming!  What size wine fridge should I buy? Do I need a dual zone refrigerator or will a single zone work for my needs? Where will I put it?

Relax! (that means grab a glass of your favorite wine) and let us fill you in.

First, you need to decide on the space for your wine fridge.  The first wine cooler I wanted was a beautiful, dual zone cooler that held almost 200 bottles and I was in love at first sight.  When I came back down from my own personal "Wine Fridge Dreamland", I realized I only had room for a wine fridge that would fit under the counter in my kitchen. That didn't mean I settled by any means! I found a fantastic dual zone 24 bottle cooler that did exactly what I wanted in the space I had.

Quick questions to ask yourself about your space:

• Which room in the house?
• Or should it go outside?
• How much physical space do I have?
• Freestanding or built in? (aka. do I have space behind my wine fridge for exhaust or does it need to be recessed into cabinetry with the ventilation is at clearance guidelines?)

Next, what wines am I storing and for how long? Many wine lovers and collectors enjoy both white and red wines, but I have a lot of friends that only keep one shade or even one specific type of wine in the house.  Many of us have a favorite but you need a variety for when friends and family come to visit!

• Dual zone or single zone?
• How long am I storing for?
• How much do I drink vs. purchase in a month?
• How many wines do I have now?
